Jeremy Flores was born in Madagascar and grew up on Reunion Island. Surfing every day since the age of 3 under the guidance of his father Patrick Flores, who over the years has played a major role in Jeremy’s development as a competitive surfer. Jeremy and his family have spent long periods of time in Australia on Sydney’s Northern beaches, whole summers in Europe and notched up a string of seasons in Hawaii, not to mention a whole range of amazing surfing venues visited by this worldly young surfer all the time maintaining his academic commitments through correspondence schooling. This fairly unconventional upbringing has enabled Jeremy to experience life in different countries and cultures and has helped him to feel totally at ease on the World Tour. His career and personality are exceptional in more ways than one. Jeremy is not only the youngest surfer ever to break into the professional elite of world male surfers, but he is also the only European in the Top 45 of the Foster’s ASP World Tour traditionally consisting mainly of Australians, Americans, Brazilians and South Africans. Has this left Jeremy feeling slightly isolated? It doesn’t seem so……Jeremy kicked off the 2007 season with an impressive 9th place at the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast, Australia, setting the tone for what was to follow……..eliminating 8 times World Champion Kelly Slater at the Billabong Pro Teahupoo Event and then finishing 3rd at the Boost Mobile Pro at Trestles. At the beginning of the Quiksilver Pro France 2007 Jeremy’s ASP World Tour Ranking was 9th. Nowadays Jeremy spends a lot of his off time at his new house in Cap Breton France. It has been the testing ground for many of his boards that he has developed over the years with his shaper Mark Phipps. The Jeremy Flores surfboard model is the result of years of research and development undertaken during Jeremy’s growth years – in terms of his physique, surfing abilities, and maturity. The Jeremy Flores model is a high performance board catering largely for the needs of those seeking to advance their surfing to a more extreme level and pull off more critical maneuvers. Being of a highly driven nature and a very passionate competitor he is showing the world that he plans to make a long and fruitful career out of competitive surfing. Jeremy is, without a doubt, well on his way to fulfilling his ambition of becoming a World Champion surfer.

In 2007, at the age of 18, Jeremy Flores became the third Frenchman and only the fourth European to ever qualify for the Dream Tour. However, this should come as no surprise for those who have followed the potential of Flores throughout his career. With winters spent surfing the powerful reefs of Reunion Island and summers on the majestic coast of southwestern France, Flores had the ultimate environment in which to improve his innate ability to read waves, enhance his fantastic technical capabilities and develop as a solid heat strategist.

Inspired by the likes of fellow Frenchmen Mikael Picon, Frederic Robin and Patrick Beven, Flores has stood out in the surfing world with his high-flying aerials and deep rail carves. He may have finished 85th on the 2005 ASP WQS, but Flores blew the competition out of the water with a 1st place finish the following year. Finishing 8th on the ASP World Tour last season, Flores claimed the 2007 Rookie of the Year Award, and you can expect him to improve as he enters this season with his sights set on the Top 5 and beyond.
